About Sebastian Inlet
As the premier surfing and fishing hub of the Treasure Coast, this high-energy area includes Sebastian Inlet State Park and the nearby Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge. The action never stops, with visitors surfing the famous "First Peak" and "Monster Hole" breaks, camping, snorkeling in the protected cove lagoon, and jetty fishing for snook and redfish. Fishing here is a highly technical, tide-driven pursuit; jetty anglers explicitly time their trips with an outgoing tide, which rapidly flushes shrimp and baitfish from the Indian River Lagoon out into the ocean, triggering massive, predictable feeding frenzies for snook and redfish.
