Grand Chenier tides
Predicted from Mermentau River, Grand Chenier, NOAA station 8767403, 0 miles away. In the marsh the tide does more than raise and lower the water. A falling tide pulls bait out of the ponds and through the cuts, and it decides how much water sits under a hull on the way back in. The range is small; what matters is which way it is running. Heights in feet above MLLW. Also covers Rutherford Beach, Mermentau River and Joseph Harbor.

About Grand Chenier
Offering expansive, rugged shorelines along the southwest coast, this area includes the remote sands of Rutherford Beach, the Mermentau River outfall, and Joseph Harbor. Visitors frequent this coastal stretch for primitive beach camping directly on the Gulf sand, swimming, crabbing in the nearby marsh waters, and surf fishing right in the breakers. Knowing the tide schedule is incredibly helpful for timing your activities; a receding low tide leaves behind fresh drift lines loaded with unique seashells for beachcombers, while an incoming high tide brings red drum and speckled trout within easy casting distance for surf anglers.
