Eastport tides
Predicted from Eastport, NOAA station 8410140, 0 miles away. This is the largest tide in the United States. The range runs to twenty feet or more — the Bay of Fundy reaching round the corner — and the water moves fast enough to be dangerous. Flats that look like solid ground at low water are under three storeys of sea six hours later, and the current through the narrows runs hard enough to reverse the falls at Pembroke. Do not walk out without knowing when the tide turns. Heights in feet above MLLW. Also covers Cobscook Bay, Old Sow whirlpool, Passamaquoddy Bay and Deer Island.

About Eastport
An island city connected by a causeway, Eastport covers Cobscook Bay, the legendary Old Sow whirlpool, Passamaquoddy Bay, and views of Deer Island. Visitors are drawn to the edge of the continent for scuba diving the nutrient-rich waters, watching the commercial fishing fleets, and viewing the massive whirlpool. The largest tides on the Eastern Seaboard create the "Old Sow," the largest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere; boaters and sightseers strictly time their visits to the flood tide (incoming tide) to witness the terrifying, spectacular spinning vortexes safely from a distance.
