About Solomons

A picturesque maritime village located where the Patuxent River enters the Chesapeake Bay, Solomons encompasses the riverfront boardwalk, Drum Point, Calvert Cliffs, and Solomons Island. The area is highly popular for strolling the boardwalk, visiting the historic Drum Point Lighthouse landmark, embarking on charter fishing trips, and hunting for fossils. Exploring the nearby Calvert Cliffs for megalodon teeth is entirely controlled by the tide; the beach is extremely narrow, meaning a low tide is absolutely required to walk the shoreline safely and spot the fossilized shark teeth resting in the wet sand.
