About Barnstable
A vast and ecologically rich area on the bay side, Barnstable covers the sprawling Sandy Neck barrier beach, Barnstable Harbor, and Millway Beach. It is a highly popular destination for ORV beach driving, hiking the extensive dune trails, and calm bay swimming. Barnstable Harbor experiences some of the most dramatic tidal swings on Cape Cod (often exceeding 10 feet); boaters must time their departures and returns closely around high tide, as a dead low tide leaves the harbor and its surrounding flats completely drained and utterly unnavigable.
