About Dennis
Offering a spectacular dual-coast experience, the bay side of Dennis covers Corporation Beach, Chapin Beach, Sesuit Harbor, and Mayflower Beach. While the town is also known for premier kiteboarding, windsurfing, walking a 1.5-mile barrier spit along Nantucket Sound, and surf casting at the Bass River mouth, the bay side is famous for its extreme tidal flats. Checking the tides for Mayflower and Chapin beaches is an absolute must; at dead low tide, the ocean retreats for nearly a mile, leaving behind endless, shallow tidal pools perfect for families to safely explore and hunt for hermit crabs.
