New Brunswick Tide Charts

Grand Manan tides

Predicted from the Seal Cove gauge, 5 miles away. Twenty to thirty feet of range, which is enough to change what a place looks like between one visit and the next. Wharves that float a boat at high water stand on their pilings at low; flats run out a long way and fill quickly. Know when the tide turns before walking out to anything. Heights in metres above Chart Datum. Also covers Swallowtail Light, Southwest Head, Dark Harbour and the Whistle.

About Grand Manan

The largest of the Fundy Isles, Grand Manan offers a diverse, rugged coastline covering the Swallowtail Light, Southwest Head, Dark Harbour, and the Whistle. The island is renowned for coastal forest hiking, rugged cliff walks, drift geology exploring, dulse harvesting, and viewing historic smokehouses. Dulse (seaweed) harvesters and beachcombers rely entirely on the extreme tidal drop; an extreme low tide reveals massive, previously submerged rock ledges and tidal flats where dulse can be hand-harvested and pristine sea glass can be found before the ocean returns.
