New Brunswick Tide Charts

Hopewell Rocks tides

Predicted from the Hopewell Cape gauge, 3 miles away. The upper Bay of Fundy has the largest tides in the world. The range here runs thirty to forty feet and more at springs — the bay narrowing and shallowing until the water has nowhere to go but up. Ground that is dry and walkable at low water is under three or four storeys of sea six hours later. This is not a caution to be polite about. The flats look solid, the water returns faster than anyone can walk, and it fills the channels behind you first. Know when the tide turns before going out, and be back well before it does. Heights in metres above Chart Datum. Also covers the Flowerpot Rocks, Demoiselle Beach and the ocean floor walk.

About Hopewell Rocks

The most iconic tidal destination in Canada, Hopewell Rocks encompasses the legendary Flowerpot Rocks, Demoiselle Beach, and the massive ocean floor walk. The entire experience is designed around walking under the Flowerpot Rocks at low tide, sea kayaking around them at high tide, and capturing incredible high-tide vs. low-tide photography. Tracking the tides is absolutely required; visitors check the charts to walk on the ocean floor amidst the towering sea stacks at low tide, and then return hours later to kayak around the very tops of those same rock formations.
