New Brunswick Tide Charts

Miscou Island tides

Predicted from the Miscou gauge, 6 miles away. The Baie des Chaleurs and the Acadian coast run a small tide, three to five feet, and the water is warm by the standards of this latitude. What the tide does govern here are the sandbars, the lagoons and the estuary channels, which shift and shoal and are worth knowing before taking a boat through. Heights in metres above Chart Datum. Also covers Miscou Lighthouse, the peat bogs and Miscou Beach.

About Miscou Island

A breathtaking, remote island at the northeastern tip of the province, Miscou covers the historic 1856 Miscou Lighthouse, the vibrant peat bogs, and Miscou Beach. It offers extreme isolation, coastal shorebird observation, surfing in northern swells, and dramatic peat-cliff sea erosion viewing. Exploring the spectacular shoreline beneath the historic lighthouse requires tidal awareness; a low tide exposes the rocky, sandy shores for pristine shelling and allows visitors to safely view the dramatic coastal geology of the eroding peat cliffs.
