New Brunswick Tide Charts

Shippagan tides

Predicted from the Shippagan gauge, 1 miles away. The Baie des Chaleurs and the Acadian coast run a small tide, three to five feet, and the water is warm by the standards of this latitude. What the tide does govern here are the sandbars, the lagoons and the estuary channels, which shift and shoal and are worth knowing before taking a boat through. Heights in metres above Chart Datum. Also covers the Shippagan Gully, the aquarium, Le Goulet and Lamèque.

About Shippagan

A major commercial fishing center with a strong maritime heritage, Shippagan covers the Shippagan Gully, the aquarium, Le Goulet, and the bridge to Lamèque. Visitors enjoy walking the harbourfront boardwalk, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and watching fishing boats pass through the gully. The Shippagan Gully is a critical, fast-moving tidal bottleneck; kite surfers harness the steady winds here, while boaters strictly time their passages through the gully with a slack tide to avoid the treacherous, rushing currents.
