Predicted from Fortescue Creek, NOAA station 8536931, 0 miles away. Delaware Bay funnels, so the range grows as it goes up. This shore is also where the horseshoe crabs spawn on the high tides around the new and full moons of May and June, with the shorebirds arriving to meet them. Heights in feet above MLLW. About Fortescue
Known as the "Weakfish Capital of the World," this isolated bayside community covers Fortescue Creek, Egg Island Point, and the rich Delaware Bay fishing grounds. The town is entirely focused on recreational and charter fishing, crabbing, and boating into the bay. The massive tidal swings of the Delaware Bay control all marine traffic here; boaters and charter captains must time their departures and returns with a high tide to safely navigate the shallow, muddy entrance of Fortescue Creek.
