Nova Scotia Tide Charts

Brier Island tides

Predicted from the Westport gauge, 1 miles away. The Bay of Fundy has the largest tides in the world and this shore gets twenty to thirty feet of them. Wharves that float a boat at high water stand on their pilings six hours later, and the mud flats run out a long way. The water comes back quickly across flat ground. Know when the tide turns before walking out to anything. Heights in metres above Chart Datum. Also covers Westport, the whale watching, Grand Passage and Long Island.

About Brier Island

A remote and ecologically spectacularly island at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy, Brier Island covers Westport, Grand Passage, Long Island, and legendary whale watching grounds. Visitors make the trek for world-class whale watching tours, agate hunting, seal watching, and coastal hiking. The massive tidal upwelling caused by the Bay of Fundy's currents hitting the underwater ledges here brings massive amounts of krill and fish to the surface; checking the tidal flow helps naturalists predict the best feeding times and locations for the spectacular humpback and right whales.
