Nova Scotia Tide Charts

Caribou tides

Predicted from the Caribou gauge, 2 miles away. The Northumberland Strait has a small range, four feet or so, and shallow sand that warms through the summer — the warmest salt water north of the Carolinas, which is why these beaches are what they are. The tide matters less here than almost anywhere else in the province. Heights in metres above Chart Datum. Also covers Caribou Beach, Munroes Island and the PEI ferry.

About Caribou

Serving as the primary gateway to Prince Edward Island, Caribou covers Caribou Beach, Munroes Island, and the bustling PEI ferry terminal. The coastal lifestyle includes warm water swimming, ferry watching, shelling, and hiking the Munroes Island nature reserve. The PEI ferries operate continuously, but beachgoers at Caribou Beach monitor the tides for recreation; a low tide provides a massive expanse of hard-packed red sand, perfect for long walks and finding hermit crabs while watching the massive ferries pass by.
