Joggins tides
Predicted from the Pecks Point gauge, 4 miles away. The Bay of Fundy has the largest tides in the world and this shore gets twenty to thirty feet of them. Wharves that float a boat at high water stand on their pilings six hours later, and the mud flats run out a long way. The water comes back quickly across flat ground. Know when the tide turns before walking out to anything. Heights in metres above Chart Datum. Also covers the Joggins Fossil Cliffs and Chignecto Bay.

About Joggins
A globally recognized paleontology site, this area covers the Joggins Fossil Cliffs (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and the shores of Chignecto Bay. The focus here is entirely on UNESCO fossil hunting (looking only or via guided tours), beachcombing, and exploring the Carboniferous-era forest remains embedded in the cliffs. The phenomenal tides constantly scour the cliff faces to reveal new fossils, and a low tide is absolutely required to access the beach safely; high tide brings the churning Bay of Fundy right against the cliff walls, making the beach completely impassable.
