Brackley Beach tides

Predicted from the Rustico gauge, 5 miles away. The north shore faces the Gulf of St Lawrence and runs a small tide — three or four feet — over sand that shifts with every storm. The dunes here move, and the sandbars offshore are never quite where they were last year. What the tide governs is the crossing to the bars and the depth over them, which matters to anyone swimming out. The rip currents along this shore are the real hazard rather than the range. About Brackley Beach

A pristine, expansive section of the PEI National Park, Brackley covers Covehead, the Gulf Shore Parkway, and Brackley Bay. It features an extensive sand dune ecosystem, accessible beach ramps, secluded sandspit walking, ocean swimming, and shorebird watching. The vast, shifting dunes and beaches are heavily impacted by the tide; a falling tide leaves behind fresh, wet drift lines that are perfect for beachcombing and spotting foraging piping plovers along the secluded sandspits.
