West Point tides
Predicted from the West Point gauge, 0 miles away. The north shore faces the Gulf of St Lawrence and runs a small tide — three or four feet — over sand that shifts with every storm. The dunes here move, and the sandbars offshore are never quite where they were last year. What the tide governs is the crossing to the bars and the depth over them, which matters to anyone swimming out. The rip currents along this shore are the real hazard rather than the range. Heights in metres above Chart Datum. Also covers the lighthouse, Cedar Dunes Provincial Park and Cape Wolfe.

About West Point
A stunning, natural coastal destination, West Point covers the iconic black-and-white striped lighthouse landmark, Cedar Dunes Provincial Park, and Cape Wolfe. The area is highly popular for red sand walking, dune walking, beach volleyball, camping near the ocean, and capturing incredible sunset photography. The beautiful, uncrowded red sand shore is best explored with a tide chart; a low tide provides the widest expanse of firm, hard-packed red sand, creating a massive runway for long beach walks right beneath the towering lighthouse.
